Low level Access Shower Renovation in Brighton, East Sussex
About:
The Outlook Foundation is a charity empowering adults with learning disabilities across Brighton & Hove since 1989.
Full bathroom adaptation to suit a young adult with learning disabilities and balance issues.

The Challenges:
Changing from a bath to a low level shower tray, or wet room is not always an easy task and this adaptation in Brighton was definitely in that category.
A grade two listed building proved to be rather a challenge as we were unable to simply cut a new waste into the existing soil pipe due to many external ornate mouldings. A new route was sought and found to ensure the correct fall with minimum disruption.
A small ensuite bathroom was also quite a challenge to overcome and ensure that everything fitted in with the correct amount of space for the tenant.

Scope of Works:
We were approached by the director of health, safety & premises with the challenge of converting two bathrooms in two of their houses across Brighton & Hove. We met up on site and ran through all the details ensuring the outcome would be a significant benefit to the current tenants at both properties.
The Customer requested the following for the renovation:
-
Low level access to the shower area
-
Washable flooring
-
Fit everything around the existing space
-
Adjustable height shower for future tenants
The Solution:
An agreement was made to ensure Outlook were happy with the solution we had to offer and a meeting was held on site with the directors to discuss the proposal. Once in agreement they went ahead with the works and we carried out the renovation with the utmost care and attention ensuring everything was kept within the confines of the work area and taking great care to protect the rest of the property and vulnerable persons within throughout the duration of the works. The bathroom was completed within the time frame , to the satisfaction of the customer and to our usual high standard.
